Until this year, I had only watched one Harry Potter film (the first) - much to the shock and horror of anyone to whom I make this revelation. A second gasp and clutching of the pearls follows when I admit that I have never read one page of the books. The world of Harry Potter just didn't appeal to me - at least, I thought it wouldn't. Until I purchased the box set collection of all eight films a couple of months ago. After watching the series from start to finish, I can see its appeal and dare I say, I am now a fan. I might even put the books on my very long reading list.
Below are some of my moments from each of the films.
The Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter lives in a cupboard under the stairs, under the guardianship of his awful aunt and uncle, who have an obnoxious son, Dudley. However, Harry is destined for greater things. On his 11th birthday, a giant named Hagrid appears and tells Harry he is a wizard. A letter confirms that he has been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...and so the magic begins. Literally.
