Fudge Brownie M&M's
I am not a fan of American candy (my intense dislike of Hershey's is well known). But I do enjoy some M&M's every now and then (and their commercials are very clever and entertaining). I was thrilled to see that M&M's has a new flavour, namely Fudge Brownie. Described as "innovative treats" with "delightful notes of freshly baked brownies in a fudgy, chewy center", the latest addition to their range does not disappoint. The Return of The Dixie Chicks
First came the brilliant Gaslighter, the group's first single after 14 years, with a cool video featuring the trio, Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, in a retro montage of propaganda clips. Then they released the feminist anthem Julianna Calm Down (no relation to T Swift's You Need To Calm Down) a couple of weeks ago. The song starts off slowly and picks up with each verse - emulating the overall message of the song, namely that things will keep getting better:
I guess this is the time to remind you
Sometimes, what’s going through your head
Is just a temporary situation
And light will soon be shed
I can't wait for the full album to be released.

The L Word: Generation Q
The original L Word premiered on Showtime in 2004 and explored the lives, loves and losses of a group of trendy lesbians living it up in Los Angeles (that's a whole bunch of L words right there). I am always skeptical of a reboot or sequel but in this case, the new series (which started in 2019) lives up to the original. It helps that three of the original main characters are back (Bette, Alice and Shane) but the new characters, while often annoying, bring a new energy to the interconnected plots.Austin Eastciders
As summer approaches so too do my cravings for a crisp apple cider. Besides a great catch phrase, "How do you like them apples?", Austin Eastciders has a great range of refreshing core flavours including Pineapple, Blood Orange, Ruby Red Grapefruit and Texas Honey as well as delicious seasonal flavours such as Watermelon (my current favourite), Sangria and Spiced.According to their website: "We’re helping move the mainstream toward cider that’s lower in sugar and features more complex flavor profiles. And with a range of styles, we believe we have truly created ciders that appeal to beer, wine and cider drinkers alike. Not to mention, our ciders are both gluten-free and certified kosher."
