Top Texas Tunes

I have been a devoted fan of the Scottish band Texas since their debut album, Southside, back in 1989 (which remains one of my favourite albums of the 80s).  Sharleen Spiteri's sensational vocals make every album a winner, even though not all of the band's albums have achieved equal chart success.  I was fortunate enough to experience the magic of Texas at the Kirstenbosch gardens in Cape Town, which provided an incomparable backdrop for the electrifying live performance, as part of the tour to promote the critically acclaimed album, Jump on Board.

They have released a total of 10 studio albums (including Texas 25, an album that featured reworked versions of some of their biggest hits to mark their 25th anniversary as well as 4 brand new songs).  The new album, Hi, was released on 28 May and has already generated a lot of positive buzz.  Mark Millar from xsnoize describes the new album as "pure Texas gold...easily rivalling the best music of their stellar career".  To celebrate the release of the highly anticipated album (and for those who are new to Texas), I have narrowed down three of my favourite tracks from each of their albums:
