New Music: 7 Songs You Should Be Listening To

I Want Love (twocolors Remix) - Jessie J Feat. Billy Porter

What's better than Jessie J's infectious disco banger, I Want Love?  A fabulous techno remix by dance/electronic duo twocolors featuring the iconic and uber talented Billy Porter!  The collaboration is making its way onto and up the charts everywhere.  Jessie J shared the following on her Instagram:  "So HONOURED to have THE ICONIC (Who I grew up listening to 🥺) @theebillyporter join me on the @twocolors remix for I Want Love!!”

Sent From Above - Dolly Parton

A new Dolly release never fails to put a smile on your face and Sent From Above is no exception.  Released as a "theme song" to accompany the release of her first fragrance, Scent from Above (which has notes of jasmine, vanilla, peony blossoms and other scents), the song has an EDM-infused melody reminiscent of her 2020 collaboration with Galantis on the hit Faith.  Dolly added the following caption for song on her social media accounts:  "Just like the fragrance that inspired it, #SentFromAbove transports you to a heavenly place! Stream my new song today!"

Love Like That - Lola Lennox

I "La La Love" everything Lola Lennox has released over the past year.  For those who are wondering about her surname, Lola is Annie Lennox's daughter, but certainly a talented artist in her own right, as her latest playful and catchy song, Love Like That, proves.  I am looking forward to the release of her first full-length album which is TBD at this stage.

For A Night Like This - Darren Criss

This is the third single from the upcoming EP, Masquerade, which is being released on 20 August (can't wait!).  He had the following to say about the new song:  " I made a song designed to invite you out of your seat and onto the dance floor, for the nights you get dressed up to get down, for the ones you spend a little on to celebrate a lot for. A song for those special nights you work hard and wait for, so you can go all out sharing something you love with the people you love".

Run - OneRepublic

The latest single from OneRepublic, from their upcoming album Human. Katrina Rees from Celeb Mix provides a spot on description of the feel-good track, which stays true to the band's talent for creating instantly likeable hits: "From the opening whistling to the foot stomping chorus, you can’t help but want to get lost in the euphoric melodies".

Rasputin - Majestic x Boney M

A new banging remix of a Boney M song seems to appear on charts every few years and with good reason.  The Euro-Carribean vocal group is behind some of the most memorable disco hits ever written (see: Daddy Cool, Ma Baker and Sunny), not to mention one of the most famous (or infamous) Christmas albums that retailers in South Africa seem to have on repeat from 1 December every year.  London DJ and producer Majestic has reimagined another Boney M classic for the club by adding a thumping bassline to their 1978 hit.

Don't Wait Up - Shakira

A different direction for Shakira ahead of the release of her twelfth studio album and I'm here for it!  Thomas Bleach (thomasbleach.com) perfectly describes the song as a "full immersion into the EDM-pop world for the Colombian singer-songwriter with a club ready hook that will echo in your head for hours".  The accompanying video (filmed in Spain's Canary Islands) is an ode to the carefree days and nights of summer and features impressive moves on the dancefloor and Shakira surfing on a neon-lit surfboard.
