Romy & Michele's High School Reunion Reunion

It seems as though I've been in a 90s state of mind for the past few weeks.  From completing my collection of soundtracks of my favourite 90s TV shows to celebrating the 24th anniversary of Madonna's masterpiece, Ray of Light, to starting the series Pam and Tommy to revisiting classic 90s movies.  The trend continued after Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino paid homage to their iconic characters from their 1997 film, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, when they presented the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy at this year's SAG Awards.  The duo wore pink and blue pantsuits, a nod to those famous pink and blue dresses that their characters change into at their high school reunion.  Before presenting the award, they walked onto the stage to Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time (another nod to one of the stand-out scenes in the movie).  Mira then told Lisa "You look cute!" to which Lisa replied, "I know, thanks!".  Mira proceeded to read the list of nominees from a Post-it.  Classic!

Of course this prompted me to rewatch the quintessential 90s film, which celebrates its 25 anniversary this year.  It is camp, hilarious and ridiculous in the best kind of way - and it has a fantastic soundtrack crammed with sing along hits from the 80s and 90s (anyone remember La Bouche's Be My Lover or the N-Trance remix of Stayin' Alive?).  No matter how many times I watch it, it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Here are some of my favourite moments from the film:
